As far as I can!!
Extremism kills!!
And for some people, it is more than killer..
I am, apparently, a very conservative person, with seemingly diplomatic approaches towards all insignificant aspects of life.
But, inherently, there is an inescapable extremism in my attitude towards with respect to many of my philosophies and more often than not, it is on the negative side.
Whenever I take a job in my hand, the first question that crosses my mind is whether I can finish it completely in the stipulated time.
No, a job can be anything ranging from some specific tasks like reading a book or finishing some technical project to a life-long activy like increasing general knowledge or shaping your health.
e.g. At a certain point of time, I thought of increasing my G.K. and the first question that crossed my mind was "Can I really comprehend all the knowledge on this earth that is supposedly general? "
The answer was definitely "No" and so was my response. I never looked back towards increasing my G.K.
Health : again came to a similar question. Can I really build "Arnie" kind of muscles in this life?
Answer : "What you kidding me? "
And lo, I never indulged in any serious exercise thereafter..
So goes a long list of activities just because I thought I will never be able to wind up them entirely in the amount of time I wanted to spend.
But, now I realise that no one can attain complete authority on any arena of life, given the very nature of human mind, there is no such thinh like "Perfection".
We can only strive for being "excellent".
I certainly realise that human spirit is indomitable and if u indulge in any activity with the mindset of something like "I 'll strive to traverse this path As Far As I Can"..actually, you will end up being the best runner in that path.
So, shedding off this extremism for attaing everything, which, rather than a booster, has always acted to weaken my actions..hence forth, in all possible ventures, the new punchline I am going to apply is "As Far As I Can".
Moreover, it is much so simple to remember...:D
Given the fact that I have returned to my deserted blogger space after such a long time, I do not want to end my post with this little advice of mine..So down here I am pasting, with due modification, something I posted in the intra-blog of my company today....
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I had been recently on reading spree!!
Finished with three books : Atlas Shrugged, Five pt. Someone, To Sir With Love..
Given the fact that I am slightly relaxed, I may be able to finish "Cryptonomicon" also in 2-3 weeks..though it is a 1153 page e-book I have hidden in my pc, and I have to tune my time with sheer perfection to escape from my MLs while reading it.....
Now,
Atlas Shrugged : A 1078 page book in 7pt priting..this book consumed 3 months of my time...but I'll still say that it was worth it...The book gives you an alternative way of living life expatiating on every possib;e philosophy coprising of love, money, sex, hard work, business, communism and that too in a masterly compilation of classy English and deep observation..Afterall, it took 12 yrs of Ayn Rand to finish this book.
Five Pt. Someone, what not to do at IIT : Here you go, with a cheap-chap storyline built around the most prestigious B-Tech college of India...hardly thought provoking dude...compiled in a very episodic and disinteresting style of writing..dunno how it became bestseller.. except for a few smart-aleck comments, and a few emotional and comic twists, applied with studied methodology of using ethos on an average Indian reader......this book is certainly not any kind of rememberable piece of literature.. work of an amateur...
To sir with love : The most disarming aspect of this book is the simplicity with which it is written, in a particulary lucid and proper English with due emphasis on important events...all feelings of the writer expressed in a scholarly manner..this book is a autobiography of a Black, who come face to face with the reality of racism in Britain, and then his interaction as tecaher with school - children. No unneeded gibberish, a lovely read from start to end..
So, here I finish...
Not that I am just a critic of books to scribble my views periodicaly, I have to pen down a lot of my own views in the space I own..but ..not today.later
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Recently I longed a lot for writing..with hundreds of thoughts daily capturing my mind..
But, out of some inexplicable reasons, I think, this post well-deserves to be stopped at this point...
Will try to return sooner next time..
