A Brush with a Dentist!!
Everytime I go to them, my blood stream doubles it's pace with apprehension.....
Each time my mind tells me that its just a regular check-up , a routine... but as and when I enter their cell, all of a sudden, unanticipated realities come to te picture.
This time, it was nothing different.
I called on to a dentist to get one of my teeths checked which was showing a slight gum erosion...
And guess what I had to countenance, a sad departure with one of my beloved tooths...!! The tooth which acompanied me for 21 long yrs..
The moment the doctor saw my tooths, a mental counting begun in his head and resulted in an awkward shock to me that I am blessed with one extra tooth..
An x-ray of my tooth and a closer look at it's whereabouts showed that it's one of my milk-tooths which rejected to leave me alone has accompanied all along, forcing the permamanent teeth in that place to take a different route fom inside.
Now, you guys know why I have that cannibal-looking pointed tooth, because it did not get it's space.
But, "shareer nashwar hai" and so are it's milky-components and so was my beloved tooth.
The doctor adviced me to have it removed.
And then he came up with the most common dentist-lie "It's not going to hurt."
Yeah that is the favourite statement of all the dentists, just a few days back,I saw it in a movie ,where a CIA agent (a gal!!) tells to a villain-dentist before kicking him on his face, "I am not going to lie like all dentists: It's going to hurt."
All said, I must agree that dentist was very caring person and it actually didn't hurt at all, after that dose of anaesthasia, in my mouth.
Even after an hour, I was unabl to feel the left side of muy mouth and nose.Touching them felt like touching dead-cells.
What I feared most was the procedure of removing the tooth!!
I always thought taht he will just pluck the teeth out using some of his tools, yeah that is what I thought,no need to laugh.
And I was anxiously avoiding that one moment, reciting all the prayers I ever learned.
But, it was nothing like that.He jsut took one instrument and grilled my tooth out.It was gone before I even knew, my beloved tooth !! I'll miss it so much.... though it was quiet a reason for an apparent disfiguration on my face, but it's loss has been no better. It has left a spot on my upper section of my mouth, which will always remind me of that lost tooth.
Ok,Ok. All said, the only thing I cared was that this removal might not result in some obscure wrying of my face, the primary concern :D, you know the smile should not be affected.
After removing my teeth, he thorughly removed all the plaque left anywhere on my teeths saving me a precious time on my brush...
Last time when I went to a dentist,it was 5 yrs. back, again for a perfunctinaory checking, out of some swelling on left side of my face, teh x-ray told me that I had generated a tumor, soemthing called "Ameloblastoma" (will never be able to pronounce it!!) and it required an immediate operation.
It took around four months from beginning to end.. , a precious time when I remind that I was in tenth standard, and I had to get my 4 teeths removed.
The tumor, when it was removed ,shocked me with it's size.
I had just learned to live with the spots they left and lo!! here I am back with a new one.....
Man, here I am ,all safe and secure, with one more brush with a Dentist, just waiting for my next brush with another dentist and hoping ,may it never occur..
All I got to say is, Brush ur teeths properly, or it's gonna hurt.
Catch u ....
